New Window Film Installation: Why You Shouldn’t Roll Down Your Windows

Have you ever heard the phrase “Don’t roll down your windows after installing new window film” and wondered why?

The reason is simple. After installation, the adhesive on the film needs time to properly bond with the glass and fully cure. If the windows are rolled up or down too soon, the film may shift, peel, or become misaligned.

Additionally, if you need to clean your car windows during this period, use only a clean cloth dampened with water. Make sure the cloth is completely clean, as dust or debris can scratch or damage the surface of the film.

That’s why professional installers always recommend:

“After installing window film, do not roll down the windows for at least 7 days.”
